Paplinko is a fun game in which you need to bounce balls into cups to score points. The ball must drop though a network of springy pegs, which shoot it around like a game of pinball.
What do you do in Paplinko?
The aim of Paplinko is to land the balls in the cups at the bottom of the screen, which will give you points and stars that can be redeemed for prizes (new balls, different backgrounds, etc.) By scoring points you can also progress up through levels, which again gives you the chance to earn prizes.
There are special pegs in Paplinko that explode or transform in some way, which helps to keep the game entertaining, as do the achievements which you can unlock. In fact there's so much happening on screen in Paplinko that it all gets a bit manic!
The catch to Paplinko is that balls are not unlimited. Once you've flung a certain amount you'll have to wait for new balls to generate. You can get new balls in Paplinko either by winning them or buying them from the store.
Paplinko has a social element to it, allowing you to link it with your Facebook account to challenge your online friends to find out who is the best ball bouncer of all.
Is it easy to play?
Paplinko is exceptionally easy to play in the sense that you just need to hold and drag the screen to release the little balls and shoot them down towards the cups.
But although it's easy to play that doesn't mean you'll be a master at it because much of Paplinko seems to rely on luck. Pins appear and disappear at random and the green slime (which steals all your points if you land in it) always seems to appear to spoil the party when you're doing well.
Does it look nice?
Paplinko is a nice looking game with cute and cheery graphics. The sound effects are chirpy and music is kept to a minimum so it doesn't become like those infuirating game soundtracks that loop over and over again.
Paplinko is a fun, mindless way to kill a few minutes. However, it's very repetitive and the fact that everything seems to be based on luck rather than skill quickly makes the game frustrating.
